A Farewell Note from our PAC President
As we come to the close of another school year, I wanted to take the opportunity to say how much I’ve enjoyed serving as the president of the Parent Advisory Council. I’d like to extend a big shout-out to the PAC classroom representatives (Ansley, Ashley, Latisha, Brittney, Joan and Amanda) and any parent who provided food for an event, chaperoned a field trip, assisted during an international festival, or gave of your time in any way to support our students and teachers. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Being a member of PAC, either as a classroom rep or as a volunteer at our community events, is such a great way to connect, meet fellow parents, and really get to know the delightful students and wonderful staff we have at our school. PAC participation is open to all parents and meets monthly. Stay tuned in the fall for the 2017-18 meeting schedule.
PAC members lead many of our events as important fundraisers, which support the scholarship program for low income students and other school improvements which are not covered by tuition dollars alone. During this school year, PAC raised over $23,000. For the upcoming school year, PAC has committed to reducing the fundraising burden on parents by eliminating several past fundraisers and focusing on the top fundraisers and most well-liked events. The largest fundraiser, Irish Fest Camden, will need your support in 2018 as we hope to grow beyond the 1600 festival-goers who attended our inaugural event – a huge success!
It was a pleasure getting to know so many of you and I look forward to working with you to plan the 2nd Annual Irish Fest Camden in March 2018. To close, I’d like to thank Ansley Champe for volunteering to serve as PAC president next year. Ansley is married to Eric, and they are the parents of beautiful Laci Jean in the Toddler class.
Ta ta for now,
Becki O’Hara (affectionately Reagan’s mom)
