A number of parents, led by Becki O’Hara, are working tirelessly to prepare for Irish Fest Camden. This extravaganza will take place on the Town Green in Camden 4 March from 11 AM to 5 PM. The event will kick off with a leprechaun parade led by Grand Marshal Tony Scully. See the Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/events/720775691407243/ for details.
I am using my blog space to address to parents the importance of this event. It will raise funds for scholarships for children to attend the school, and it will raise awareness of the Montessori school in the community which will, in turn, increase enrollment. The City of Camden supports the event because it brings much-needed tourism to the city. And, of course, it’s nice, one day a year, to be Irish. Altogether, it is a win-win-win. The Irish Fest Committee needs more parent-power, and I urge you to contact Becki directly or let the office know you you’d like to help. In a few days I will be posting a list of materials we need to borrow for the event (stuff like tents, coolers, and so on).
This event promises to a popular annual rite of spring and will be the primary fundraiser for the school. Please show your support by volunteering and—best of all—by attending!
